This album contains images of New Brunswick, NJ. A very beloved town to me. I live only 5 miles away and have dug hundreds of privies in this town starting in 1975. That's no exaggeration as a group of digging buddies dug over 90 privies on one construction site alone, where along New Street a line of privies ran 3 deep and end to end for the length of a city block and that was just one street on one site and the metal detecting? Oh my!
Sam Donato, New Brunswick House Wrecking
Sam left us on September 6, 2020. He was a 3rd generation working owner of New Brunswick House Wrecking where his father worked at the business his grandfather founded. The NB House Wrecking yard was where Somerset Street meets French Street or Route 27. I will always owe Sam a debt of gratitude for his hospitality, the memories he provided and his true friendship. I had many great and really fun times at the yard and Sam always gave us permission to dig for bottles on his many demolition sites in New Brunswick, at a time when the oldest remaining neighborhoods and parts of the City were being razed. RIP Sam - I'll always miss you.
